Research project SynfutoP

If the bus in the future will be a robot, how will it know what passengers expect? And how will the passengers know what the bus will do? Will passengers feel safe?

Optical sensors that are highly fail-safe through self-monitoring functions will be an essential prerequisite for safe interaction between passengers and vehicles in mass transit.

In the research project "Synchronous, Functionally Safe ToF Platform Camera with Image Processing Functions for Electromobility and Autonomy", iris-GmbH is developing basic architectures, functions, models and process flows for the development of safety-oriented, imaging time-of-flight sensors in cooperation with the Institute of Computer Science at Humboldt University in Berlin.

The project is funded by the Berlin ProFIT program with state and ERDF funds from the European Union.
