Tour through NEWAG S.A. train factory in Nowy Sacz, Poland

See how the trains are manufactured from the smallest screw to cutting out the larger components, welding, assembling, painting and final assembly of the systems and other components inside – including our IRMA 6 passenger counting sensors.

The Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Pomocy (WOSP - Charity Organization) auctions are always a great way to support projects close to our hearts. Collected funds from these charity events this year will be used to support pediatric eye care. We are pleased that thanks to the support of iris-GmbH and NEWAG S.A., and a huge number of other supporters, WOSP managed to collect during the 30th finale of their charity campaign this year more than 46 million EUR. In one of this year's WOSP charity auctions, iris-GmbH won a tour of NEWAG's train manufacturing plant in Nowy Sącz.

NEWAG S.A. is a leading Polish manufacturer of rolling stock, passenger trains, electric and diesel locomotives as well as metros and streetcars with a tradition dating back to 1876. As one of the oldest railroad companies in Poland, the company has extensive experience in the production and modernization of rolling stock.

Our iris colleagues Tomasz Gawryluk (Sales Director Central and Eastern Europe) and Dariusz Zakrzewski (Project Manager Central and Eastern Europe) were welcomed at the plant by Łukasz Mikolajczyk, NEWAG's Public Relations Officer, and Kazimierz Padula, a representative of the WOSP charity organization from the city of Nowy Sącz.

During the factory tour, NEWAG representatives showed how the trains are manufactured from the smallest screw to cutting out the larger components, welding, assembling, painting and final assembly of the systems and other components inside - including our IRMA 6 passenger counting sensors.

We are very grateful that NEWAG has shown us all the insights into the manufacturing process of the trains, and also how our sensors are assembled.

By the way, if you are traveling on the new NEWAG trains, you can see that many of them are already equipped with our state-of-the-art IRMA sensors for automatic passenger counting. Whether you are in the Warsaw metropolitan area and traveling on new SKM trains, or in Poznan, Wroclaw, Lublin, Rzeszow and traveling on new local municipal trains, our sensors will count you to ensure that the frequency of these trains and their size are adjusted to you - the traveler - to ensure a comfortable journey.
